The past week has been one long series of things that have broken down. First the Internet kept crashing (we spoke to our neighbour and it seems every time it rains, we have no Internet). Comcast was unable to tell us if the problem was with them - it was a good thing our neighbour had the exact same issue!
Then the water dispenser under the sink started leaking - all the way into our basement. Simian had to clean up the mess and get fans and a humdifier. The AC also broke down. We had the plumber, Comcast guy and the AC guys in. Both the AC guy and the plumber need to come back.
On the plus side, we did go to Suntaneye's for dinner with her and her husby. The food was so good - fresh veggies all grilled! - that I forgot to take photos. We went to A and W's on Monday and on Tuesday, we went to HJ's where she made the feast above. E, her little boy, refused to go to bed because of all the excitement and surprisingly, I was the one who was able to put him to bed in the end.
Simian's birthday was on Thursday and he spent the whole day doing chores - poor Simian. I did make him mushroom soup so he could try and recreate his childhood dish - Mushroom Soup, Luncheon Meat and Macaroni. Our mushroom soup was not from a can, and we substituted veggie sausage, but he seemed pleased!
