The best part of baseball? The food - it's amazing how there is merchandising on everything though!
The fries were nice - they had basil and breadcrumbs on them.
We had excellent seats - incidentally the Red Sox won, not that we stayed till the end of the game.

The signboard at Camden Yards - there is just about every statistic ever about each player.

This was the most packed I've ever seen the stadium!

W and Simian walking to the stadium - Simian was carrying his work papers with him.

This fantastic montage was sent by M and came in the mail today! I absolutely loved it! Thank you!

M's meringue tart. She kindly said that my key lime pie was better because she's a nice person :)

M called just as I was thinking about her - and we went to Bonaparte's, which somehow she had never been to! This was my chocolate raspberry ganache. They also had a lovely millefeuille you would have loved Mom!

This is the building where Homicide Life on the Streets was filmed. It's stood abandoned since the series ended, though occasionally I've seen them use it for events. The interior smells like pee.

I drove to Bethesda today to see some of the ladies at Alley Cat Allies. Thanks to the GPS, I had no problem finding my way. The only issue was that it was pretty cloudy today and on the way home, it couldn't find my position for several minutes, so fell back on reliable Simian with Mapquest!
You know you're in Bethesda when cars stop at the pedestrian crossings. I had to re-orientate myself again - the last time I did it in B-more, the pedestrian stopped and stared at me in surprise. Another time I stopped for someone who was illegally crossing the street and I got the finger in return.
Fells Point is near the water - still it was a surprise to see the ducks further inland and out quite so late!

After dinner, we went to Pitango Gelato's - one of my favourite places. It's probably supplanted my other favourite ice cream place.

I made this for dinner. It was nice and spicy!

Also made this hot fudge cake, which frankly looks quite gross. Haven't eaten it yet.

Made brownies and oatmeal raisin cookies this afternoon.

Whipped up a quick dinner. I used this easy recipe for white asparagus - had to peel the white asparagus first as the label around them suggested that. Then made little cuts in the mushroom, poked in garlic, butter and sprinkled it with a bit of mozzarella and bread crumbs. The asparagus was lovely and fresh and so it went well.

Also bought some lovely portabello Mushrooms. I can hear my friend, P, complaining that it's Portabello and not PotabellA :)

suntaneye and I went for smoothies this afternoon. It was 31 degrees out today and very hot. We ended up walking around at Harbor East and then coming home.

We went by Target Greatland and managed to get some supplies. I always wondered what the difference was between a normal Target and Target Greatland - obviously the Greatland has more selection. I didn't realise however that it didn't have as much fresh produce.

We had dinner at Red Brick Station where we shared cream of broccoli and I had a hummus. Ian had the veggie burger.
They brew their own beer. Ian of course had a glass.
The rows of lawn mowers outside Lowe's are impressive, or scary, depending on how you look at it.

It's funny but one of the most familiar things that remind me of home is Ikea - a decidedly non-Singaporean company. Going to any Ikea around the world is pretty similar - and that is nice in itself :)
We hadn't realised it but Ikea closes early today. I didn't even get to buy food at the Ikea shop - an Ikea ritual for me :)

The scenery reminds me a little of MacRitchie Reservoir - told simian I thought Dad might like it.

A most unusual shape - was trying to convince Simian to take it home.

It's staying brighter out now till much later - it wasn't sundown till 8:20 pm.

We also saw a lot of pretty flowers and birds and insects we couldn't identify - we nicknamed this the yellow radiation flower.

The trees are marked so that you know where you are going. I hadn't realised that this was going to be quite such a walk and hadn't put on my jogging shoes - fortunately I had my good sandals. If I can shop for hours in them, what's a little nature ramble? We went on the Lake Shore Trail.

One of these plants is supposed to be poison ivy - apparently the more regular shaped leaf. So it doesn't look like ivy, nor particularly unusual, so here follows my Rule Number One in nature - don't touch anything!

K was checking out these bright orange mushrooms though no one dared to touch them directly.

I didn't know irises grew in such muddy conditions and right by the shore.

Simian and K on the trail - it was a lovely walk and took us almost two hours. Another two friends, K and S, went on ahead but the three of us stopped to look at almost everything.

There was a cute family of geese. One hissed at simian when he got too close to take a photo for me.

Here's an unripe blueberry - it tasted very tart. Simian and I had one each and K had three.

Simian's friend who lives out in Gaithersburg, Maryland, invited us over for a late lunch - and then we headed down to Seneca Creek State Park.

This is one of the more unusual sights along the Beltway around Washington DC - the Washington DC temple.

I made pancakes for breakfast this morning - chocolate chip and cranberry ones, banana pancakes and plain chocolate chip ones.
